There   are   sixteen   pieces   in   the   Life   Glow   series   (the   four   sold   pieces   are   not   displayed   here.   All   sixteen can   be   viewed   in   this   PDF ).   Life   Glow    did   not   start   out   as   a   series.   The   first   piece   began   as   a   watercolor painting   with   no   particular   goal   in   mind   other   than   a   color   scheme   and   interesting   shapes.   Once   I   saw   that one   of   the   shapes   was   reminiscent   of   a   woman's   figure,   I   began   to   use   that   imagery   deliberately.   The circles   indicate   a   life   force   within   the   woman's   body,   representing   the   beginning   of   life.   The   small   shapes in   the   paintings   give   texture   and   visual   interest,   and   to   imply   that   life   is   all   around   us   as   well   as   within   us.   I liked   the   whole   theme   so   well   that   I   decided   to   do   a   series   to   see   where   it   took   me.   Ultimately,   the   images became   more   and   more   abstract,   without   the   suggestion   of   a   female   form,   though   still   representing   to   me the    force    of    life    and    creation.    Some    of    the    paintings    are    watercolor,    some    have    pastel    pencil embellishments,    some    are    acrylic    only,    and    others    are    acrylic    and    glass    pebbles    and/or    beads    as embellishment. The pieces range in size from 6.5” x 4.5” to 48” x 60”.
